WEEKEND RECAP

From Friday until Sunday we spent the weekend eating and drinking with friends. First up was the  Spotted Trotter Civic Dinner along with American Spirit Whiskey. The food was excellent, but I’d have to say my favorite part may have been listening to Chef Kevin and the guys from Spirit Whiskey talk. Kevin speaks passionately about his food, and beautifully described the rabbit pie we were about to devour. The whiskey guys were laid back, and it was much like listening to old friends telling a really great story. It’s easy to get behind people who seem grateful to be where they are and prideful of what they are doing.

Spirit Whiskey is described as a distinctive and mixable white whiskey that can be sipped on the rocks or used to make whiskey cocktails. We were served Moscow mules that tasted great, and I don’t normally go for whiskey. If you’re a vodka drinker and you’re out of vodka (gasp!) this is a whiskey you could turn to and still mix up a delicious cocktail. If you’re not sold on the packaging and the owners, you will be on the taste.
