Palm Springs | LA 2018

In April a took a spontaneous trip to CA to celebrate a friend’s Birthday and reunite with some old friends too. I went back and forth on if I should go because I had just returned from another trip, but I’m so glad I said to hell with it and went. As someone who loves color, pattern and mid-century design I have always wanted to go to Palm Springs. We flew into LA for two nights and then off to Palm Springs for two.

We stayed in West Hollywood at the standard which was nice but felt far away from some of the museums we wanted to hit up. We met up with friends for dinner, drank too much, saw some standup at the Virgil and hung around town.

Melody

When we got into town we hit up Botanica for lunch, followed by dinner at Melody which was one of my fave spots. Great natural wine selection and atmosphere.

We made sure to hit up a favorite spot Sqirl before driving to Palm Springs and stopped at the Cabazon Dinosaurs on the way.

We grabbed lunch at the Parker Palm Springs

Scored some great finds at the Palm Springs Vintage Market on Saturday

We drove to Joshua Tree to explore and watch the sunset. Beautiful. Keys View did not disappoint.

We stayed at an Airbnb in Palm Springs that had a pool and went for night swims. We ate at Workshop Kitchen, Birba, King’s Highway at the Ace and had drinks at Bootlegger Tiki & Toucans Tiki Lounge. Back in LA we had a cute little Airbnb for our last night and then hit Ostrich Farm for lunch before heading out of town.
Overall we managed to pack in a lot of fun and relaxation in a short amount of time.
