LISTEN UP * Brené Brown on Vulnerability

Did anyone happen to catch On Being’s dialogue last week with Brené Brown? I tuned in on the drive home from Savannah, and found it really interesting. As an artist I connected with a lot of the talking points, and I’m definitely someone who doesn’t always open up or put myself out there. Thought provoking and definitely worth a listen!
Comparison kills creativity
Be vulnerable
Be daring
Put yourself and your work out there.
Courage is borne out of vulnerability, not strength. This finding of Brené Brown’s research on shame and “wholeheartedness” shook the perfectionist ground beneath her own feet. And now it’s inspiring millions to reconsider the way they live, parent, and navigate relations with members of the opposite gender.
